Already happened.
Reasons:
The country has one of the most corrupt goverments.
Innocent people lived with the risk of being shot in the streets.
People were being beheaded, cut in half, or left hanged from bridges (Specific to the city I lived in though)

I personally am grateful that it happened, the U.S is such a great country in which we as individuals choose the way in which we live.I came here 6 years ago as an illegal immigrant, but worked hard and smart to learn the language and get used to the way the country works, after much studiyng I realized how easy it is to make money in the necessity/luxury-goods market and never looked back.Now I am a permanent resident, owner of multiple small businesses and co-owner of a succesful startup, waiting for the day until I can finally become a citizen of this fine country.
The only thing that would make leave this country is if it showed strong signs of adopting fascism.
