Isn't someone saying something is "overrated" subjective? I think Journey is overrated, my opinion, which is subjective. I don't think "everyone" else is wrong, I just didn't care for the game personally thus making the game overrated imo.

Not exactly. By saying it's overrated, you're not simply expressing an opinion about the game, but about other people's opinion about the game. You're saying it doesn't deserve its praise, thus arguing that your opinion is better than others'.

Having the opinion, that his original opinion of the game being overrated is wrong, is no different than him having the opinion in the first place.  You're both devaluing other peoples opinions.

I completely forgot about the Cross Buy on this port; I even saw the game pop up on Tuesday and thought maybe I'll buy it again when it goes on sale.

It's on my download queue and I'll probably give it another play tonight. I think the last time I played it was in 2012.

This is why PS4 is The Best Place to Play. How else would i play Journey, TLOU, Witcher 3,  Shovel knight, flower, rayman and fez? Based Sony.

You can play half of those games everywhere else, and the other 2 consoles has backward compatibility, so they can play last generation masterpieces but they are not counted on metacritic, wich is kind of ironic to be honest, the one charging you money again for the same games receives more praised just because those games appear on a metacritic list.

Comparing BC to remasters doesn't really make much sense in this context. Backwards compatibility gives you a way to experience an older game in its original form (or close to it), where as a remaster is intended to provide a version which is inherently superior. It might not be a new game, but you are being offered an experience out of reach for the game's previous hardware, hence they tend to be re-reviewed. It's not like BC doesn't get showered in praised either. It's simply treated as a feature rather than a previously impossible to achieve (assuming it wasn't on PC) version of a game, which makes sense to me.

On a side note, i think it's a bit early to group the WiiU and X1's BC together. We don't yet know how limited the latter is going to be. That they've gotten this far is impressive enough.

I'd rather buy Onechanbara (that's why this thread was made) than buy this again, it gains nothing from a PS4 port.

Good news for you good sir, you don't have to buy this game again, it's free for owners of the PS3 version.

Can't wait to see people use this in the "8th gen only has remasters" argument. This is a port, and Sony are looking like they're trying to port every popular PSN game (internally published PSN game at least) to the PS4. And given that it's free for owners of the last gen version that is even less of an issue.

Personally, I absolutely loved Journey, so I'll definitely play this when I get a PS4. Will also be nice to have the screenshot button, because Journey looks absolutely gorgeous.

True colors being shown in this thread I like it!

Back to the topic at hand, I never experienced Journey on PS3 so I finally get to play this gem Cant wait!!

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm at a point where I prefer re-release/remasters that take advantage of advances in new hardware platforms, even if it is for nothing more than smoother frame rates and sharper resolution.

I'll repurchase any of my old favorites, assuming the developer actually went through the trouble of making a decent port.

While it would be super convenient to be able to play all or even a percentage of the PS3 games I bought over the last 8+ years, the truth is there are only a small handful of games that I would replay on the PS4 without any changes/enhancements made.

I do still have a couple PS3s; they're just no longer being used.

Another 90+ game in the PS4's library. That's 10 in less that 2 years.

The Wii U is sitting at 7 and the XBoxOne at 2.

WiiU: http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/all/wii-u/filtered?sort=desc

I find it funny how you say "That's 10 in less than 2 years" as if it's some sort of amazing thing. Almost all of them are just last gen ports and while this doesn't mean that they aren't great games, they are just ports. Good for people that didn't play them on last gen but they are not new.

6 of them are ports from 7th gen, so it's really only 4 for Sony. It would be 3 but I decided to count Rayman Legends since it released on the Wii U and that is techniquelly part of 8th gen with PS4 as well.

The Wii U basically has 4 because 2 of them don't really count since one of them is a port and the other is just the DLC pack for Mario Kart.

Xbox One has one.

One of the most overrated games of the millenium. If it was multiplat it would be one of many indie games and not many people would notice it, deservedly =P

No, you're probably thinking of GTA 5 or The Last of Us. Journey's an amazing game.

I never understood why this game was so high rated. I played it and thought it was a good but not amazing like the reviews said it would be.
