Those who think PS4 cant reach PS3 numbers will be surprised

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Pretty good opening for Batman. It's definitely much better than I expected.

Also very good PS4 boost.

Yoshi pretty much bombed. Those numbers aren't very hot.

Dat Godzilla effect on PS4!

That's right, it's soo bad that people had to buy 2 PS4s for it. One PS4 to play Godzilla on in a hidden area of the house/apartment, and one PS4 for playing every other game.

OR

People are far to embarassed to have the physical game case in the house and it actually sold 100K on PSN the day it launched.

But seriously, if Batman at 48K can boost PS4 to 24K for the week, it seems like there are quite a few people waiting in the wings for that one game for them to buy a PS4. Splatoon had 3* the sales of Batman but Wii U had 7K less hardware sales for its launch week.

I've noticed a pattern with Famitsu with Wii U and PS4. It's almost always lower than MC with PS4 and almost always higher than MC with Wii U. Why is that? Is the consumer base Famitsu tracks more Nintendo oriented for some odd reason? I'm not questioning their objectivity, it's just odd that there seems to almost always be a Nintendo skew in the data they collect, on the home console front at least. I never really botther with handheld sales data because they interest me less. Or am I suffering from selective memory?

A lot of you clearly don't know that bloodborne was recently bundled with every ps4 bought. Hiska has more details but that's the main cause of the boost.

Though it doesnt help out as mych as i dont believe Yoshi will have decent to good legs, a couple of wiiu games sold low 1st week (talking 30k-50k openings) and still got close to 100k if not hit between 100k-150k in sales.

I was expecting at least 50k for Yoshi FW in Japan.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf just reached 4m in Japan. Wow... should reach 10m+ globally LT.

I'm impressed to see PS4's bump thanks to Batman and... maybe Godzilla too? Interesting!

Expected at least 50k for Yoshi, but I guess it'll be another evergreen title, like Kirby, and will eventually reach 200k there.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I wasn't aware of that. But also  pretty impressive that Bloodborne can have this effect 3 months after launch.

It's given for free as a download code. That's why it's not being tracked.
