Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo just won another huge patent case!

Quintal is a patent-assertion company run by the named inventor of the asserted patent, who is also a patent lawyer.

Well, that settles it.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Cool.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Nice to see..

But that tec patent system screams to the heaven..

Good cause Nintendo certainly needs some wins these days

If you mean 'company that tries too collect patents and sues other patent holders just incase they can make money', when you talk about "patent assertion company". Then I'm so glad Nintendo won, those companies are parasites and need to be put out of business!

They've only lost 1 in recent times haven't they? against that former sony employee over some 3d stuff in there 3ds.

Patents should not exist, period!

Trolls arise and it only makes doing competition harder ...

There'd be a lot less monopolies and those who make money from filing lawsuits against other companies ...

Haha had the same reaction when I read that. Those guys are akin to Scalpers in that they weasel their way into money whilst providing no true product or service, except on a larger scale.

Glad to hear Nintendo won.

They were due for a win.
