Mass Effect 2 was released a year later with NO additions at full price so, i would like to know where people are getting this from

I didn't say it happened with everything, but many games esp. in Japan, for example, were released with extras.

but then how is it a clause if it doesnt happen with everything? seems more like a case by case basis. As for Japan thats to be expected since they care nothing for Xbox over there.

DLC that had already been released on the other console is addition? Thats an odd definition. By that time if one were to get a new copy of ME2 for 360 or PC with all the DLC it still would not come up to the 60 price tag of the PS3 version

You seem to keep ignoring the exclusive (at the time) Genesis intro...

It sucked and alot of the stuff that happned in the original wasnt even addressed in the comic. So i wouldnt really call that a bonus. And wasnt that eventually released on all systems when the trilogy came out?

Nah, I was responding to Onyide, who's clearly ignoring all empirical evidence that supports the fact that Sony has a very similar clause.  The difference is, this isn't last gen, so Sony really doesn't need it.  Though, I wonder if Sony will require anything additional in the Tomb Raider game, after timed exclusivity ends.

Gaming Bolts may not be the best, but I was more pointing to the specific quotes from the dev, stating Sony has similar policies.

Ok, that's fine, I'm on your side then :).

Good point about the Gamingbolt article having dev quotes.

Yeah, that's really all anyone should take away from that article, in the context of this particular discussion.  You literally have a dev saying this, with no 'demand' for retraction, by Sony.

Well, because I personally haven't bought every game out there, it means I don't know everything about every game.  However, it would appear someone has already corrected you on this.  The game in question did in fact come with all the DLC on disc (which was considered 'more' than just the base game, at the time) as well as the comic thing that explained the history.  So, again, you're wrong.  I've also quoted a gaming dev as stating Sony have similar policies, what've you got?  Anything?  Anything at all?

DLC already released on the system isnt exactly something new or different. Now the exclusive TR underworld DLC that came to 360 is is different. The Joker stuff in Batman Arkham Asylum is different. What of Eternal Sonata? Star Ocean? didnt really add anything when they came to PS3

and the comic thing isnt really a bonus since the very nature of the game required that something had to be in place for it.

Who cares if it was good or not or if it went to the other platforms later (it did). It released with extra bonus content that wasn't available on the other systems, you also couldn't buy a version for the other systems that had all the dlc bundled with it.  The point is, it had extra content on disc compared to other systems.

Now, I have heard the same thing that others are saying on here the Sony had a policy that 360 timed exclusives had to add content to get ported to the PS3.  It has obviously been a long time since this was discussed, so I don't remember where or when I heard it.  By googling it, it looks like the source for it is a Japanese developer who wrote about it.  He worked on vampire rain and talked about how Sony wanted lots of extras in order to get it on the PS3.

Now, I don't read Japanese, but this is another blog that talks about it and links to the original Japanese blog.

Eternal Sonata - http://eternalsonata.wikia.com/wiki/Eternal_Sonata/Xbox_360_and_PlayStation_3_version_differences

And since that took about 2 seconds to research, I'll let you use Google and do your own on Star Ocean, since I played neither of those games, I'm not exactly the best resource for this.  Any other games you want to move onto, since you know, 2 of your claims have already been addressed and disproven...not to mention developer commentary that substantiates what I'm saying?

Not true at all. I could boot up and play mass effect 2 on the 360 without having played the first game.  It just had a default choices programmed in for people that hadn't played it.

Im not really sure what you are trying to argue now.  Are you saying the bonus content has to be good or extremely relevant in order to be considered bonus content?

No, he's saying HE has to find it good or extremely relevant.  Because, well, obviously his opinion is the only one that matters.  Which, to him, that's probably true (And there's actually nothing wrong with that), to everyone else...not so much.  But, that doesn't mean you should be able to just ignore what has occured in the past.  Also, I'm not bashing either company, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect all DLC on disc, or that you've updated the game engine in some way that can benefit the player.  These are obviously very minor things, in the grand scheme, but they are differences.  Basically, anything to add more value to a potential customer who's waited 6+ months for a timed exclusive title.
