Not true at all. I could boot up and play mass effect 2 on the 360 without having played the first game.  It just had a default choices programmed in for people that hadn't played it.

No, he's saying HE has to find it good or extremely relevant.  Because, well, obviously his opinion is the only one that matters.  Which, to him, that's probably true (And there's actually nothing wrong with that), to everyone else...not so much.  But, that doesn't mean you should be able to just ignore what has occured in the past.  Also, I'm not bashing either company, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect all DLC on disc, or that you've updated the game engine in some way that can benefit the player.  These are obviously very minor things, in the grand scheme, but they are differences.  Basically, anything to add more value to a potential customer who's waited 6+ months for a timed exclusive title.
