Forums - Gaming - Should video games be made available in public libraries?

You really think that people are more willing to steal a book than a game?

At a library? Obviously.

Not that it matters. In order to even get a library card, you have to apply with your ID and all information. Stealing from a library is like stealing from a bank and leaving your drivers license. On purpose.

Maybe, but my public library really isn't a place I want to be in for long, I'd rather just go to my local game store.

My library has almost everything - no problem with stealing.
Movies you have to rent (cheap) but the librarian has explained that games must be lent, free of charge, due to some legal writing.

My experience with libraries is that you don't pay until you go back. So, just borrow some games, and never go back.

That would be great but the games would probably be really old.

Maybe it's my incredibly good luck but in all of the Texas, California, New Mexico, and Oregon libraries I've been to (which is somewhere between 25-30ish) every single one of them had video games. Some more varied than others but all carried games. The library I go to now has some current games but I don't really like renting so I never rent them. However they also have a decent amount of rare GameCube games, it's how I've played WindWaker

Yeah, and the library has your living address and will just do nothing with it. Stealing from a library is stupid. That's probably why not many people are doing it.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

meh, double post.

The library I go to lends out wii, wiiu, Ps3 and 360 games.

Check the link below. (note to Admins: it's not really porn please don't ban me!)

I know both the public libraries in my town have them. It's not uncommon anymore based on my knowledge.
