Sure the game drops/gains a couple of frames on both platforms constantly but I don't think that that will hinder the experience much.

Some GAFer said it is unplayable for him... it all matter how sensible to framerate variations you are.

I didn't have issue with most tracks in GT5 but the city based ones (like Monza) were really bad and unplayable after some time (I got tired with the frame tearing to have to stop to play for some time).

Screen tear on the PS4 version seems worse going by the video link

No game should be releasing with screen tear in 2015, completely ruins the presentation

Edit: Thought so nice it posted twice!!

The Xbox One version does dip to almost unplayable levels for a fast racing game on many occassions, so that's unacceptable.

Also since PS4 is absolutely dominating in Europe and F1 is by far the most popular there, might the sales difference be big enough for the next installment to be PS4 console exclusive? That would allow them to optimise to 60 fps locked.

Monza isn't a City track. You mean Monaco (Cote d'Azur)?

10 frames per second is quite significant....

In this console world so many people live in.  On PC 10fps was a big deal 10 years ago.  Now it is nothing.

PS4 slightly better specs than XBO, what else is new?

LOL at this spin...10 FPS is a huge no matter the platform...it is 20-25% perfoemcne difference, and is very noticeable.

Yeap... my bad... there is two tracks I can't hold more than 30 minutes playing in GT5 due screen tearing... give me head sickness.

The inconsistent frame rate together with cutting a lot of content has moved this to the back of my wish list. I was looking forward to playing an F1 game again in the new generation but I guess I'm better off waiting for the next installment. Drop the res to 1440x1080 on ps4 and lock it at 60fps. GT6 looked fine at that res.

They prob should have uped the res and locked the frame rate at 30 on the x1. Or lowered to 720p add in the missing stuff and locked it at 60fps

Well both console version should be running at a lower resolution, have graphics scaled back, or just be better optimzied.

Forza 5 is still a nice looking game with and achieves 1080p/60 fps locked with no screen tear. I'm curious to see how good Forza 6 will look while achieving 1080p/60fps.

Forza 5 passes for a 360 game, no AA, baked lighting, no weather effects, poor textures......Not exactly a good example. It achieves 1080p, 60 FPS cause it looks poor and lacks many key features that are standard in every other sim.
