As a very young child, I loved video games but was really frustrated by them. It was the NES era, and my parents regularly picked up games like Batman, Ninja Gaiden, and Metroid, which were a bit too hard for my 6 year old self. Iwata suggested Hal should make a game that all players could get to the end. That game became Kirby's Dream Land. It was a game that was easy enough that I could make it to the end, but, unlike other kids games of the time, it was still a quality product with interesting ideas, great level design, and tons of charm. I still remember feeling happy and proud when I was able to complete the game on my own, and I've loved the Kirby franchise ever since.

Thank you for making this. Threads like these are the ones that should've been made, not the ones asking for new flesh.
His dedication to the company and keeping it alive in the face of all the media scrutiny is my fondest memory.
Played many of the games he worked on but I don't think it compares to how he turned the company around when he took over and the software out improved, like N64 level quality on a more consistent level. He had a hand in the partnerships that brought Bayonetta 2 back from the dead as well, he showed exactly why Yamauchi chose him as his successor.
