Or better yet, ditch all the amiibo crap and use the money put into it towards something people actually want.

People want them.... they sell all of them they make, and have huge profit margins on them.

Thats the problem though. I have this horrible vision of nintendo in the future makeing cheap f2p mobile games, and selling amiibos that work with your phone.

The reason they sell all they make is because scalpers buy all of them before anyone else can then sell the figure on ebay for $40. But I could totally see a Nintendo 10 years from now that only makes Pokemon spin-offs for mobile and build those games around amiibo, and that's kinda scary.

Dang, that's rough. It sounds like they won't make amiibo until a game is made around them. Too bad they just can't make the amiibo alone. Well, I guess if you want the toys, you can just get them, and not worry about the games. I wonder why they didn't just make the game without needing amiibo.

Every time Nintendo mentions amiibo, especially during E3 just a few weeks ago, I just roll my eyes and tune out. Amiibo is basically glorified day-one DLC at this point.

Its worse than DLCs.... you dont build & plan and develope games around DLCs.

The reason this game is a party game, is because that way its 4 people that buy amiibo's instead of 1.

They chose to make this quick f2p game, because of it.

Its time they could have spent makeing a real animal crossing game instead.

Do you honestly believe that the AC team isn't working on a true succesor to AC on the NX? This is a side project with limited resources spent. Do I like this game? No, but don't act like this is coming at the expense of a true AC game. The Wii U's userbase is too low to invest in AAA games anymore, so Nintendo is putting their eggs into the NX basket. And that has absolutely nothing to do with amiibo, trust me.

i dont get your problem, this is not a cheap cashgrab, they dont target whales, they dont sell the game at fullprice, etc.
i think its a cool idea for a game. maybe the best use of amiibos we saw. and the price is realy good too. just buy 4 amiibo cards and you have a full game. thats a party game for 15$ or so.

no problem if the game is free in this case.

also, imagine if you buy DLC for a game and win the DLC for several other games for free? is like that.(for mario, link and etc amiibo)
So, i think is a worthy acquisition.

I don't really have much of an issue with AC + Amiibo since AC is Free but when they start making games that cost money + have AC level of amiibo integration, thats when I'll get pissed

Mario Party had big amiibo integration from what I heard but I believe it wasn't this big but I skipped it regardless

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

This makes me fear for the direction the NX is potentially heading

WELL...... I just recently preorderd my K.K slider Amiibo, but in NO WAY im buying that game for it. =D

Pocky Lover Boy!

Well, if they don't have limited stock, then that's all I really care about
