Forums - Gaming - Games you loved that Metacritic hated

Ironman (PS2) Metascore: 47: I love the combination of Flying and Third Person Shooting!
Crash: Tag Team Racing (PS2) Metascore: 66: The merging mechanic was fun and unique!
PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale (PS3) Metascore: 63: While I hate some of the characters, it's fun using a Big Daddy to beat everyone up!

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

I'd have to look at my games and then check Metacritic. I really don't go there at all.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

I guess it depends on what score means "hated" but both Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number and Resident Evil: Revelations 2 scored in the low/mid 70s and I thought they both kicked so much ass.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

Niche JRPGs and japanese games, they all have like 4-5 average scores but I enjoy those games a lot and I think they deserve much better ratings.

Metacritic didn't hate it (neither did the majority of reviewers), but I think The Wonderful 101 is a masterpiece.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (54) One of my favorite games of all time

This.

I have no idea why it got such a low score, the game is great.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Senran Kagura. People just don't give points for well done breasts anymore :/

Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time, it has a 67% somehow -even if it's better than any SRPG game I've ever played

DBZ Buu's Fury, it was 63 there IIRC.

The Simpsons Road Rage (67) - sure it's a Crazy Taxi clone, but it has a great sense of humor and huge replay value

Killzone (70) - the PS3 Killzone games got all the critical love, but for me the original game, with its better story, superior level design, and deeper gameplay, is much more impressive

Body Harvest (73) - a proto-Grand Theft Auto game with invading aliens - what's not to love?

I absolutely adored The Simpsons Road Rage. My friends and I still play it every now and then, mostly to laugh at how incredibly buggy the game is.
