"A Finnish teenager who claimed responsibility for the cyberattack that brought down Xbox Live and PlayStation Network last year has been convicted of more than 50,000 instances of cybercrime.

His punishment, according to Finnish media, is a two-year suspended prison sentence and a requirement to speak out against cybercrime."

Personally, I think that his punishment should be alot harsher and that he should be made an example of. What you do you think about it all? Are you glad that most of them were caught? Discuss.

Punishment fits the crime me thinks.

I am the black sheep     "of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong."-Robert Anton Wilson

Haha, idiot.

Hmm, pie.

I also want hackers to be punished but...
He will get two years in prison if he do any other cybercrime for the next couple of years (not hacking may not be easy for a hacker). And he have to help fight cybercrime (everyone will benefit from that).

So... he basically gets no punishment at all? Well that's pretty ridiculous.

I agree. How many millions do you think those outages/DDOS acttacks cost MS and sony?

Thats' too harsh. He should be put in a pillory at next E3 or similar gaming event with free rotten tomatoes and eggs for everyone.

I don't care since at that time I wasn't using either PSN or XBL :p

OT: His punishment are ok IMO. his crime was nothing compare to genocide or terrorism lol.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

Ah... look how cute he is.. all prison inmates were waiting for him..suspended prison sentence is nonsense.. at least make him do 2000 hours of community work
