Perhaps I phrased that poorly, but I meant actually showing what the game is about and combat and the such rather than just exploration of the scope.

Should be abundantly clear by now that Sean Murray isn't going to divulge more than he wants to.  If you're that curious, you can always wait until after it launches and then watch Let's Play and Twitch live streams.

That is very true, but it's a little frustrating because it's one of my most anticipated titles and yet I know next to nothing about it in the grand scheme of things. This video was an excellent start as was the E3 stuff though, so positive trends.

Will probably end up online ever exploring like 5 planets in the whole game anyway :-p

Imagine what Mass effect, dragon age or an elder scrolls would be like with that tech...

The Elder Scrolls Arena and Daggerfall had a similar procedurally generated world for the most part. Of course that wasn't on the same scale as No mans sky but Bethesda have increasingly went for a more handcrafted approach through the years. I'm sure they still use a form of the tech for dungeons, unless Skyrim was 100 percent handcrafted as well in which case they have completed moved away from it.

I never played those but were their game worlds the size of a world?

Not quite the size of a world but Daggerfall is thought to be larger than Great Britain in size. You should give it a try if you're interested in what the elder scrolls would be like with the tech.

looking amazing

I've posted the next video here: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=205733&page=1#

Well worth a watch but a little short.
