The magic of the original lies in the original. This is not a port, or an enhanced port. It's a complete remake. I see nothing wrong with having some things updated/altered/made fresh, etc...

If you want the magic of the original, play the original. I don't see what's wrong with that.

Terrible mindset to have in regards to remakes to be honest. Graphics in my opinion should be the only thing which is enhanced, the gameplay and story should stay intact. If they change to much with this there will be an outrage and in my opinion it'll just be a watered down version of FF7. This is suppose to be a timeless classic, they shouldn't need to change or alter anything to make it fresh except the graphics. All this talk about altering bits of the story and the combat seems like a quick way to anger a lot of the fans.

Maybe the halo community is a little more hardcore than the FF community but any thought of changing CE in the anniversary remake would have been quickly met with a lot of anger.

First time I've been told that keeping an open mind is a terrible mindset compared to being entitled like you are/suggest.

There is having an open mind which I do have as I would fully support if there is a choice to play between classic and whatever new changes are included and then there is the terrible mindset which is that loyal fans who want to play the game as it was in newer graphics are given the middle finger and have to play a game which is largely only a reality because of them in this new "reimagining" or are told to go back and play the game on the PS1.

If a remake doesn't capture the magic of the original, celebrate it and then improve on it then whats the point?

I just want it to be open world, and kill everyone together with Sephiroth.

Well, from what you're telling me, you don't have an open mind. Sorry to break it to you. Saying "I have an open mind because I'm ok if they give me a choice between what they want to do and what I want" is anything but being open minded. It's being entitled.

As for your question, who knows how FF VII will turn out. But if you're too rigid with what you expect from the remake, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. And you're not even giving the developers and the game a chance.

Btw, you can also play the original FF VII on the PS2, PS3, PC (with a lot of graphics mods available), and soon on iOS and PS4. ^_-

All I'm seeing is people who want to experience FF7, but play something else. I've killed my hype already in preperation for this simulacrum.
