If digital pricing was more competitive would you consider it more?

Yes 122 60.70%

No 52 25.87%

I'm already 100% digital 27 13.43%

Total:201

Not for me I am afraid. Having something that is physically tangible wins out.

On Steam it is already.

I only buy digital when they are 50%off+ or indie games and that's just to consider it

Yes but it would have to be significant. £45 for a new disc release would be £30 digital. The main reasons are that I cannot exchange it and there is no packaging.

Hmm, pie.

Well If the pricing was different and more competative would you consider buying more games didital?

With the current gen I have wanted to buy more games digital but the pricewall has always stoped me from doing so, Here in the UK retail is usually £39.99 or£44.99 and and the digital equivlent is £49.99 and £54.99

The most extreme example i saw was Final Fantasy Type-0 on the PS4 ( not sure if X1 was same) This was £34.99 retail or £54.99 digital.

I would really like to see some more competative digital pricing and if they released all digital games for £34.99 and retail at £44.99 I would probably buy most of my games as digital and since I wouldnt resell it down the line it would make the publishers more money in the long run since selling it after 1-2 months giving someone a pre owned copy takes away from a full price £44.99 sale.

Refering to console digital prices as steam is already good for PC gaming prices.

Yes. I buy more digital games than on disc, a lot more. But I never buy a new(ish) digital release that costs over £40. It's just more convenient, (Streaming is even more convenient which is why PS Now will do ok despite naysayers).

No you can't sell your games but I it's cool that all your games are always there, no scratches, no faulty discs, no transporting, available to download what ever machine you logon to.

£30 - £35 on new releases would make me go 100% digital.

The convinience fo not swaping disks all the time when your playing 2+ online games regularly and working on a singleplayer game is great but that convinience is still to overpriced.

I imagine the future will lean towards every retail gameincreasing in price to £49.99 and £54.99 and eventual matching digital prices and not the other way around unfortunatly.

I would only consider going fully digital, if there was a significant difference in price. €5-€10 isn't really that big of a difference, to me, considering the perks you get with a physical copy of the game which include lending it to friends, having a neat little collection which looks very nice and reselling since let's be honest here, we've all bought that game which we just end up disliking.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

So Fallout 4 digital pricing is out £42.85 on Amazon and £59.99 on Xbox Store.....

Interesting thing is the exchange rate as in the US its $59.99 Leaving us in the UK getting royally shafted yet again.

For me on new purchases I know I'd get, it definitely would for me. On games I'm not sure about, I'd still probably buy when cheap on disc.

I'm current'y in the process of trying to find deals for games to pre-order below £40, I mean I can find £44 but want £35 personally. This said when PSN store is £55 or £60 for those same games?  Why would anyone buy new games digitally?

Hmm, pie.

Yes, because most of my digital game purchases were done during a sale. However, it will depend if the game is hard to find at the local store or how much I want the game on physical medium.
