I wonder how the Vita will be remember in Japan. It's certainly a device by primarily very hardcore gamers, but at 4 million, it's getting past the point of previous hardcore only devices.

This is what the system has sold yearly.

2011: 440k
2012: 691k
2013: 1224k (1148K PSV, 76k PSVTV)
2014: 1168k (1094k PSV, 74k PSVTV)
2015: 477k (461k PSV, 16K PSVTV)

Not that impressive in absolute terms, but given the state of the market, it's certainly something.

And people will have long forgotten by now, but given the state it was in during holiday 2012 (like regular ~ 4k weeks), it's nice to see it at least out of such a slump.

Wonder what final number it'll get to. It certainly has the potential to have a good few years of life left in Japan.

I think 900k is a bit low for 2015. It's going to be down YoY, but there's bound to be a price drop announced soon that should allow it to double its sales so far.

PSVita was at 621,578 unit sold at this point of the year in 2014...

That's -25% dropped.

Considering PSVita sold 1.17m in 2014, with this trend PSV is going to sell 880k in 2015... What do you think will sell this year and in the nexts year?
