I think the NX is the new handheld, if not that then i think its like the fusion idea, but i dont think its the next home console

The Fusion idea would basically be the next console. It would be the successor to both the 3DS and Wii U in that case.

I'm sorry, but I am getting sick of these NX threads left and right.

Amen

the fusion idea needs to be forgotten as it is not what Nintendo will do!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

This is what I thought it was going to be, when they first annouced it. But then there was this influx of VR and AR device announcements and negative comments about VR from Nintendo, so now I'm just not sure what it will be.
I feel like it would be a bad Idea to try and chase the VR maket as the last company to enter it. It would be a similar situation to the WiiUs gamepad, where they were behind the curve on tablet technology and didn't anticipate a rapidly evolving market. That being said, it could work if they have the cheapest VR offering on the market.

I would be willing to make a bet that the NX will be the Fusion, or at the very least, crosscompatibility between both HH and HD will be its main apeal.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

I'd opt for the fusion concept with a mobile hardware architecture, that could be realized in 3 different forms.

1. A shared architecture for both handleds and home consoles, with different form factors (shared cross-buy libary)

2. An handled console that can be attached to a TV with an HDMI cable or a docking station

3. (That's more imaginative) A modular console with a shorter life cycle that can be attached to different terminals, like a cartridge.

My guess is it'll be a fusion console just like the PSP Go.

By adding in the portable feature it'll give Nintendo an excuse to continue to use low-end specs since they're not interested in high-end specs. Probably looking like Vita-type games at best.

cross compatibility yes as the "X" in NX means exactly that meaning the games could be played on aether platform with different graphics capability depending on if it is on handheld or on the home console. The fusion idea was made up by a youtube guy and it just stuck in peoples minds.

Vita is pretty outdated.

They could probably very easily get a mobile chip much better than that.

The Tegra X1 is a mobile processor and it can run Crysis 3:

I think Wii U level graphics or better (perhaps) in a handheld form factor for Nintendo is fairly doable next year even.

The Nvidia Shield microconsole that uses the Tegra X1 is $199.99 with 3GB RAM right now. So it's cheap.
