It is a film term for perserving the original aspect ratio on a screen that does not naturally accomadate it.

So if you ever watched a film on a television and saw black bars at top and bottom that is called lettboxing.  Some games have adopted this practice I guess to give games a "film aesthetic".

Don't know if this entices me to replay the game for the sixth time, but...this is damn great.

What is the term for when a movie is preserved in it's normal ratio, but the top, bottom AND right and left sides are black? Do you know what I mean? Like, when you're watching it on a 16:9 screen, it's 16:9... but tiny. I ask because I have the Starwars DVD's that have the original version of the film, but there's like that so I have to sctrech them to fit the damn TV lol
