METROID PRIME: FEDERATION FORCE - NEW DETAILS, METROIDS/SAMUS MAKE AN APPEARANCE

The following info comes from a Kotaku interview with Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe...

- use the second stick on the New 3DS to look around

- game also runs on the regular 3DS

- Blast Ball could serve as a replacement for a traditional tutorial

- concept for the game has been floating around for 10 years now

- single player mode

- no four against four player matches

- co-op four player mode where you fight as a team against space pirates

- three major planets

- roughly 10 different missions on each planet

- areas for you to look around and explore

- no visor scanning

- a mission involves Metroids

Tanabe: Personally, I don’t feel like I am creating anything that is a side-story. Until now, we’ve never had a game focusing on the Federation Force fighting against the space pirates. So the main idea here is that I sort of wanted to change that focus a little bit and see it from a different view from the same universe. So as I briefly mentioned earlier, once you play the game you’ll be able to feel that Metroid Prime universe. So it’s kind of... at this point it’s a little difficult I’m sure for both sides to get that idea ...for players who haven’t touched the game, it’s really difficult to imagine that feeling you get when you touch the game. So it’s a kind of an unfortunate situation at this time, but it’s something I definitely look forward to having the users touch it and play and experience the awesomeness of it.

- Samus will make an appearance

- move around in mechs that are outfitted before each mission

- choose to be more of a “healer” by equipping repair capsules

- arm yourself with super missiles

- game is overseen by Nintendo’s Yoshihito Ikebata and Ryuichi Nakada

I feel like people are overracting. Next Level Games successfully rebooted Punch-Out and made a good sequel to Luigi Mansion. I think they can make a good Metroid game.

Tanabe: “The bounty hunters in Metroid Prime Hunters were ... defeated, but I think he left Sylux for something later on.”

So 3 planeths x 10 mission each one = 30 missions?

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Well at least it will have a single player mode. Seems to be a fairly robust single player mode, too. We'll have to wait and see. I've never felt that this game would be awful, it's just so disappointing that it's not a regular Metroid game. Hopefully we can make the best of it.

30 missions?
Yup, we're gonna learn why Sylux dislikes the federation and Samus. Just as I said before.

I'm sure it'll be fine.
It was almost all the negative reactions based on it not being a Samus Metroid game, which I'm guilty of as well.
I do hope it's fun though but I won't be buying day 1, going to wait to check out a lot of reviews.

nice info from Tanabe, it was really off in a sense that this game was just a prototype and didn't show all the different gamestyles. There was a Jose Otero interview with one of the guys who made Federation Force, not sure if it is also Tanabe. He mentioned to Jose that there are a lot of good elements in the game but again it wasn't shown in the trailer, which is a bit sad and internet exploded due to the half baked trailer they've shown.

hoping to a more polished game and better gameplay, and we will surely see in the upcoming directs about this game and see how it is improved. i'm sure Next Level games won't release a game that is mediocre.

I trust Next Level Games to make a great game, they haven't dissapointed me yet with Punch-Out!, Luigi's Mansion and the Strikers games.

It would be nice if this game had local co-op by download play. Zelda Triforce Heroes has it but I doubt this game is going to support it.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Even IF it is a good game. I'm not gonna get it because of the horrible controls Hunters had. Because of the cramped DS. And I'm not buying a New 3DS for this one game.

Three major planets. Will there be minor planets?
