There's already enough console makers. Plus its not really profitable and the market isn't even big enough for 3 consoles.

Philips is the only European electronics company that is big enough to make one and they tried once with the Philips CD-i and it failed big time it was bigger disaster then the Panasonic, GoldStar (LG), Sanyo 3DO.
