Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: We didn't want to show "wonderful footage" of Zelda WiiU and disappoint fans at E3

Looks like he's lying or stupid.

probably both

There would have been almost no negative backlash for the Digital Event if they showed Zelda Wii U material.

He just felt it was important to communicate that Zelda wouldnt be out until 2017.

1) nintendo no longer want to show trailers of games more than a year away, it just dissapoints when its that far away - reggie.

2) they have "wonderfull footage" of zelda, but dont show it, because they dont want to dissapoint fans. - reggie.

=

zelda first out in 2017.

Well, how did that work out Reggie?

When Nintendo screws up, they screw up really bad. This "wonderful footage" could have made the digital event much better.

If it is as wonderful as he said, it would have saved the entire event.

I really like Reggie, but seriously.. he has been anoying over the past week.

Yeah, I like Reggie a lot but sometimes he just needs to take a chill pill and shut up before he makes Nintendo look bad.

I knew Reggie was a fraud!

In other news, water is wet.

Sarcasm OFF, i thought that was clear years ago. Reggie and Iwata are driving Nintendo in a downward spiral and people are yet to realize this.

Miyamoto is the only one that stear clear from the mess, even thou he has that old school mentality, which is not that bad being in his position of developer/director and not on the CEO stuff.

They need to confirm that it is indeed a Wii U game and restore some faith in the system. It may lead to some people actually buying the damn thing this year if they know for sure that a Zelda game is coming for the system.

They did confirm it; however, they have yet to dismiss the rumblings of it being cross-gen. They have never stated that it won't be on two platforms and it does appear that they're just stalling at this point (and at a point a long time ago as well).

I'm gonna say, that's Nintendo's fault for announcing on Nintendo direct before E3 1st place.

It def would have spiced up the Ninten direct if they showed it x ) But I guess I can see why he would hold it back after what he said about showing new footage too soon. At least things are progressing well and maybe it'll make the next direct excellent when it is finally shown.

They will show footage on direct 1st Japan then EU then NA. hehehe

I guess E3 conference is complete useless.

That's understandable, but then they shouldn't have revealed it at last year's E3.
