Just a fighting game seems to be quite the understatement, I fully expect SFV on PS4 to outsell RoTR on X1. |
If that happens than this shows that Square are idiots and Capcom made the right decision.

Double standard? Nonsense.
It's just one standard, and it's very simple.
Games on PlayStation = good
And of course, if games on PS = good, then obviously games not on PS = bad
I mean that's just common sense

Not necessarily. But with SFV never coming to Xbox and fighting games just not being big on PC, you can assume that most of SFVs sales over the next years are going to be on PS4 (and those sales are going to be nothing to scoff at). Tomb Raider will after a certain amount of time just appear on other systems which historically have bought more Tomb Raider games, also it's crossgen and releases during an extremely packed holiday season on Xbox, same day as Fallout 4 and a week before Battlefront I believe.

Are you complaining about Tomb Raider? Have you complained about Titanfall?
There are numerous double standards involved.
1. People are quick to claim Sony is directly responsible for SFV existing, yet ignore that MS and CD have both come out and said MS is helping pay for development of the game. At the end of the day it's the exact same situation on both sides. A console manufacturer paying for faster development of a game we ALL knew was coming, anyway.
Also, these same people will throw out comments about how this is risking the future of the franchise because they will cite Square saying the reboot was not a financial success even though it sold millions. Yet they cannot connect the logic dots there and see why maybe SE wanted assistance with funding development.
Lastly they will say the game never would have existed without Sony or would have come a lot later without Sony but the same people were giving EA and MS shit for the Titanfall deal, even after Respawn confirmed that yes, the game would have been delayed and they'd have had to give the IP to EA had MS not stepped in and assisted.
2. Maybe my favorite double standard, they will complain about how ridiculous it is that SE would strike an exclusive deal that shuns the very fan base that made the franchise popular on consoles. Yet they make no mention or give no fuck about the fact that the franchise was made popular on consoles by the PS fan base simply because that was the only place you could play it.... thanks to an exclusive deal.
I love reading about this game around the Internets.

Why would I complain? I'm notoriously bad by nature
I can't believe people genuinly believe Capcom couldn't fund SFV.
If they're so poor they should have turned to KS lol.

They never said that.So this is a lie and you have no proof. What CD said was that they want to make the best game possible and compete with Uncharted, which is all PR anyway because it was Square who made the decision. Why would they need Ms money when they ported the reboot without MS and are putting out Just Cause 3 and Deus Ex? LOL! You are just nlowing smoke with false information with no facts. The facty is MS paid to delay the PS version which is already developed along side the Xbox version.FYI TR was released on PC and Saturn and still sold more on PS consoles since the oriinal, even with the 360 releases.

What I mean is all games ell bette ron PS4 so either way most sales would come from PS4 for SF5.This is where TR will suffer as it will sell poorly on X1 regardless of coming out first.Square are fools because now tih no UC4 they could sell to those who like Uncharted this fall along with its fanbase being primarily PS fans.

Scoobes said: They could build their own fanbase by creating a new franchise/IP. They were already getting the TR game as a multiplatform so they could have invested in another studio building a new game and developing a new fanbase. Its worked for Halo, Forza, Gears and to a lesser extent Fable. It's also what Sony did with the first Uncharted game and managed to influence the development of future TR games.

This is exactly the point that I wanted to make as well. Where is Microsoft reviving games like Shenmue or completely funding games like Street Fighter 5? I thought Microsoft has more money than Sony, so why is Sony able to do it but not Microsoft? What do they do instead? Purchase a multiplatform game for 2.5 Billion dollars!
Microsoft should help fund Devil May Cry 5 instead of funding SquareEnix with Tomb Raider. That way, they can start creating a relationship with game devlopers. They don't need to wait and see if devil may cry 4 special edition will sell enough to make DMC 5. Microsoft needs to go to them right now and say here is all of the money to make DMC 5.
Microsoft needs to create new IPs and develop their own fanbases instead of relying on the same games over and over and over again (Halo, Forza, Gears). They need to put themselves in a good light by funding games that wouldn't have been made in the foreseeable future.
But we all see why they funded Tomb Raider (a game to go against Uncharted). We all know why they didn't fund Street Fighter 5 (already have Killer Instinct).
Why don't they take one of their developer teams that makes Forza and make their own IP? Or perhaps grow their existing first party developers (Black Tusk, 343 Industries, etc) to make new experiences for gamers instead of preventing gamers from playing games (Rise of the Tomb Raider)?
This is why PC gamers and Playstation fans are annoyed with the timed exclusivity of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Microsoft needs to fund games, like Street Fighter 5, that would have never been created/developmental issues or create their own games.
