Forums - Sony - Sony: 'PS Vita is not dead, there are hundreds of games coming'

Myabe a word like that during the conference would have helped. And NO, they're not all indie games, there are freakin' good Japanese games. Go to th freakin' showfloor and check your own line-up for damn sake!

It's by far the best handheld I've ever owned with the games lineup being very strong now and the form factor being pretty much perfect (just lacking physical L2/R2) and a lot of the upcoming games are now perfectly suited to the portable form factor.

It's disappointing that it's not getting the type of content it was blessed with in the first 18 months, but I'm finding it harder and harder to keep up with the releases it's getting so it's all good. There's certainly plenty of upcoming software to keep any gamer happy.

They may have contributed to the situation themselves, but Sony certainly seem to have done the best with what they have got and been really successful at repositioning the Vita to a format where it's sustainable for third parties and indies to develop for it.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Well it's selling close to Wii U numbers, which is pretty respectable for a dead platform.

There are a lot of good japanese games coming on vita but people will just ignore it, its not dead because vita doesnt need first party support to get games, thats thé difference .

But people will still be childish and play surprise when Gravity Rush2 will be announced only on PS4 while they knew long ago Sony doesnt invest anymore on vita

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

lol Sony. Just lol. I'm not saying "lol the Vita isn't getting any games", but lol Sony acting like they have absolutely any impact on the success of the Vita at this point. Indie games aren't carrying the Vita, and remote play certainly isn't carrying the Vita. Japanese developers are carrying the Vita pretty much exclusively.

^ this.

Honestly the fact that it still has like 85+ games releaseing for it this year, and 100s of games in developement... dispite everyone seems to think it dead, is in itself pretty damn impressive.

I think its sad, the Vita is many times more powerfull than the 3DS, and it has good games.
Its just too expensive... and its too late in the gen for price cuts to really help it much.

They over engineered it, or something.
Hopefully next handheld (if there is one) its made to be sold cheaper than the vita was at launch.

Mine is pretty much alive and looks like it'll be used frequently throughout this year
Might get barren in the second half of 2016 but by then it'll already have been a great run

Most people don't care about indies. Sony realized this and didn't even give them time at their E3 conference.
