It's by far the best handheld I've ever owned with the games lineup being very strong now and the form factor being pretty much perfect (just lacking physical L2/R2) and a lot of the upcoming games are now perfectly suited to the portable form factor.
It's disappointing that it's not getting the type of content it was blessed with in the first 18 months, but I'm finding it harder and harder to keep up with the releases it's getting so it's all good. There's certainly plenty of upcoming software to keep any gamer happy.
They may have contributed to the situation themselves, but Sony certainly seem to have done the best with what they have got and been really successful at repositioning the Vita to a format where it's sustainable for third parties and indies to develop for it.
