Mario kart 8 and Super smash brothers  4 are still relatively new and are being kept fresh with lots of dlc released or being released in the future so it would be foolish to spend so much time and resources on new iterations  when they have two amazing  games they can continue to expand rather than start again from scratch.

Because of the cartoony looks of the games they wouldn't necessarily benefit from the extra graphical power of nx either, maybe nintendo could up the resolution and use anti aliasing  then the games would look good enough for a new console. Of course all wii u dlc will be included plus the most important thing exclusive content. Brand new dlc elclusively for the nx version such as a true battle mode for mk8 and a single player campaign for SSB4 then i'm sure nintendo would be onto a winner. I think this is a good idea and the nx would have nintendo's 2 biggest franchises from the get go.

Nintendo could also make improved nx versions of other games like the wii u zelda etc just like sony did with the last of us on ps4, This would also give gamers who skipped the wii u a chance to play these games on nx and lets face it alot of people skipped the wii u.

Maybe or maybe not. We still don't know exactly what NX is or when it's coming out.

I guess it would be weird to just leave such great games, especially smash bros after all the hard work. But maybe NX won't release until late 2017 meaning smash bros and Mario kart would've been out for 3 years, however that still isn't that long. Maybe the console would be backwards compatible and they'd make the NXt installment in each series later in the consoles life so these games have enough time to shine. 

1st of all, these threads need to stop. 2nd of all no they will not. Have they ever ported a mario kart game before? no. Every console has its own version so the NX will get its own Mario kart. Smash is not gonna get ported and its unknown if there will be anymore after this.

I hope they won't port them to NX and make a new MK and SSB instead because I won't buy console for the same game. MK and SSB is their biggest system seller so I don't see the point to not making a new game.

No, because it wouldn't make any sense. There are going to be new Mario Kart and Smash games on the new system.

Most people who own an NX will have owned a Wii U, especially at launch period so there's no real 'excuse' to.

I hope they dont do a new mario kart for the NX.
The 8th was really good and theres no need to have a new installment so soon after, unless they have a fantastic idea to improve gameplay in some way they cant add to the 8th.

There are other titles & IPs nintendo own that need more love, have gone longer without games for them.
NX should launch with those types of games instead.

They do need a real 3D mario game though...
Mario is so big that launching a console without it, dooms the console from the start.

They'll probably release a NX version, with all the DLC pre-NX included. They'll try launching the NX with MK and Smash and soon as possible, to have all heavy hitters from the beginning and concentrating on other titles.
