Well if the Nintendo cycle continues with the next console, the next console is screwed.
Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

Im kinda not buying that answear. The part about it failing because other tablets where made mean time..... and "stuff" to do while the consol is booting up? Jeez just work on getting the thing to boot up faster instead. |
He's saying it failed because consumers didn't understand what it was and by the time the Wii U was released, the tablet concept had already been touched on. They also failed to communicate to people why the GamePad was necessary.
And they have already done that.
| Skullwaker said: Yeah the GamePad concept was definitely too little, too late. It could've been wildly successful just a couple years prior. Even though that's only one of many, many reasons why it failed. |
No it couldnt.... its not a time thing... its a failed concept thing.
It cost more than 80$ in components, when the Wii U launched.
It was to expensive then.... a earlier launch would have made it probably even more expensive/weaker or weird in design.
I dont think its a time thing.... even if a next gen "gamepad" ends up cheaper now, it still wouldnt work.
Nintendo should have stayed with the Nunchucks that worked for the Wii and where wildly popular.
Or made a standart controller like everyone else.... being differnt just for the sake of being differnt... is a bad idea.
It did not suceed becasue they barely had any games for it for the 1st 12 months - then they had a few then they didnt for another 9 months, then again no games again etc...
Additinally the price was too high and NINTENDO did not leverage the advantages of the gamepad THey did not execute
THey know this but they are trying to say they failed becasue they were too bleeding edge- which is ironic
Nintendo just did not follow thru on their own vision for hte wiii u, they did a horrible job executing re the Wi u and they did absolutley nothing diffferent to maintain any sales momentum- they just sayt there and started cutting back their dev and marketing budget after the 2nd fiscal year of the Wii U s life- that should tell anyone all they need to know- Why would 3rd parties develop for a system that it Nintendo istelf did not beleive in??? They did not. Why would the consumer buy a system thaat Nintenod did not beleive in??? they did not.
Really, it just sounds like, "our gimmick failed this time but next time we hope it will be popular." Did they really learn anything from the Wii U?

the main reason is that people did not get that the WIiU was Wiis successor. They should have done couple of commercials explaining that this is not a Wii it is a WiiU a next gen console with a new controller. I never got why they didn't do this as they did it for the 3DS.
I was honestly expecting them to do a revision of the WiiU just to have a re-launch of the system

It is a time thing. On top of a million other things.
And both Wiimote/Nunchuck and the traditional Pro Controller work with the Wii U.
Miyamoto is a stubborn but honest guy, we can trust him enough to not damage control that much.
I'm now filled with determination.
Hopefully when the NX comes along, either they havea gimmick that they know will work, or just have not a gimmick, period.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
