eh who cares really? i already have my PS3, so it honestly doesnt effect me.

ya me too, its basically my blue ray player for my bedroom now(PS4 in living room)... but if I had to urge to play a PS3 game its right there.

Come to think of it the only plus to the PS4 having BC would be because the DS4 is far Superior to the DS3. So I could play old games with my DS4. That said no interest in old games right now.

I don't mind if they don't to BC. I honestly only used it for the first few months with my PS3, until i had enough PS3 games to play. Plus, i've already played damn near every PS3 game that i want to. I want to game in this gen, not the last.

Well, according to your profile, you play games you also could've played with last gen. You even bought GTAV twice. Yes, it's a better version because it is remastered but still it's a last gen game.

People have backlogs and especially last gen many people started to buy a lot of digital games, building a huge catalog with sales that also still happen. Why would you stop doing it now when you have access to them via one console?

Yes, i do play some of the remastered games from last gen, but like you've said, they've been updated. Sony also doesn't need to draw people away from their old consoles, as much as MS does though.

The PS3 is probably hard to emulate anyway.

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

Backward compatibility on the Ps4 would require a Emulator and Emulators alone requires more then 4 cores and then there are basically no power left for the Ps3 games to be able to run great or good on the Ps4 and we would be better off with the ps3.. There is a reason why we don't have a Ps3 emulator on PC yet including the fact as the PC get stronger it might achieve that goal, but the Ps4 will stay the same.
I am not exactly sure how many cores it requires to run a Emulator, but i remember reading something in the line of 4 cores for a DS Emulator

Yep, the PS4 is in a situation where it doesn't even need exlcusives to sell. Good though for people like me with a huge 360 backlog.

Problem is that the PS3's CPU is more powerful than the PS4's CPU. So not only would they have to convert the Cell Power ISA to x86, they would also need to engage the GPU as GPGPU to aid the processor. So emulation would be quite difficult, if it would run well at all.

He doesn't really say they won't do it, just that it isn't easy. Besides, it would be a little bit weird if they had BC will still promoting PSNow.

I'd love it if PS4 could do it too, but it ain't going to happen. Sony is not like M$ who has the money and brains to build an emulator. M$ is the OS mastermind of the universe.

PS Now is not an option for me. My internet cuts off for a few seconds daily. It's like it has a mind of its own and there's no telling when it will. I guess that's what happens when you aren't living in high class society and just trying to survive in a gangsters paradise. Also, them Lizard Squads might attack and won't even let me log on PSN. That is where cloud gaming fails. Whether via Xbone cloud or PS Now.

Anyone who wants to play ps3 games can pick up a console for $250 black friday

Ive seen a lot of comments on engadget and the verge about how this is a game changer, but honestly both those communities raved about the xbox one when it first launched.. soo... not exactly representative of the market.. lol

Got my 2nd ps3 on black Friday with free Arkham Origins and TLoU for $199 in 2013.

What if your older games got a noticeable performance boost from BC?  Would that entice you?
