Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo E3 was bad, but they did warn us months ago!

Now dont get me wrong, I died a little while watching Nintendos latest E3 direct (and cursed the gods that be)....

BUT!!!

Remember many months ago Nintendo said themselves that they will be only showing games releasing 2015/early 2016:

"As Mr. Aonuma announced, The Legend of Zelda game for Wii U is no longer targeted as a 2015 release. Rather than sticking to a specific schedule, the team wants to make this the most complete and the best game it can possibly be. The new launch timing has not yet been determined. Because we’d like to focus on developing the game, we aren’t planning on showing it at this year’s E3, where we will be highlighting games launching in 2015. We will let you know when we’re ready to share more specifics."

They warned us yet despite all this WE FANS still got hyped. HYPED TO THE MOON!

Initially I was hoping for at least one big Wii U game to be shown that will release end of this year but it turned out to be Mario Tennis.... (why not Mario Soccer!!)

I am not trying to defend Nintendo's terrible show but am trying to remind you all that they delivered what they promised.... however bad it may have been.

I think it's healthier for us to just not talk about it rather than try justifying it.

Steam: garretslarrity

We all knew this seeing as Reggie restated this at the beginning of the direct, and that has nothing to do with what the games themselves are. Amiibo Crossing Party 11 would be shit no matter when it was announced or released.

Yet they didn't even bother with fatal frame and devils third...

They announced some 2016 3DS games though, why not Wii U?

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

Yes very surprised about this.

Well they could've showed some other things, like Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, or Fatal Frame, so...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

SMT x FE is 2016

Annnnnnd that's it

Thing is, we were looking for surprise reveals, which could very easily be released within that window. Tons of Nintendo games have been revealed at E3 and released that Christmas. Nothing like that here, though.

They mentioned that they were going to show only 2015 games, but it was not unreasonable to expect 1 heavy hitter to be announced for 2015, especially when zelda was delayed. When they showed no such game, people realised that Nintendo had underperformed the very low expectations that people had
