Forums - Nintendo - Yup, not buying a Nintendo system again

Too harsh a reaction.

For me - its a simple decision. I'll not buy any of nextgen consoles until 'their second christmas'. WiiU was promising but sadly fell flat. (Which is actually very good for my wallet!)

Quality advice.  Buy the platform with the games you want when those games arrive.  No brand loyalty or brand hate needed, just go where the fun is.  People get caught up in all the brand wars and drama, I say keep it simple.

Well, in fact I'm happy with the WiiU games. I got Smash, I got MarioKart, I got SuperMArioLand and Donkey Kong. I'll have Xenobleade and FF5 soon. So the games I wanted - I'm getting.

I can understand your frustration. I have this feeling NX will be their next home console and be released in late 2016 (as they can't survive as a company without a healthy hardware business). Why no Zelda at e3? Because it will be released in late 2016 for NX. Why no Retro Studios game after all these years? Because they moved the game to NX. Why only spin-offs, re-releases and 2nd party games for 3DS? Because they are focusing their resources on next gen. This reminds me so much of e3 2003 when their big game was Pacman VS for Gamecube :P

Nintendo showcased lots of unfinished games (and tech demos like "project shield" we're never going to see released) last year to give people the impression the Wii U was still alive. This year they don't have many new games to show. Personally, I'm interested in Fatal Frame, Hyrule Warriors Legends and maybe Starfox (even though they shoehorned the gamepad in and want to make us use a stupid drone to look for items in a freaking action shooter).

I can totally understand your reaction: This is not about a bad e3 showing, it's about their inability to deliver games and hardware the market wants to play, which has been the status quo for almost 5 years now. It just gets more and more frustrating to see them drop the ball repeatedly, especially after Splatoon seemed like a step in the right direction.

I'm still waiting for a new F-Zero, a Mario RPG on Wii U that looks like Super Mario 3D World, and a Zelda that looks like the E3 2011 tech demo. :( Been 12 years since F-Zero, 20 years since Super Mario RPG, and 9 years since Twilight Princess.

as somebody who has been saying Nintendo needs to change for years, i kinda saw this coming. they are out of touch with the market and it shows. their E3 this year was just... uhhh... all kinds of bad.

nintendo are the most joke company out there. everyone will be gunning on fallout 4 but on wiiu? bumpies party? drawings? mario creator? yoshi?

come on what a waste, if there next console isnt a traditional console like ps4x1 then they dserve to stuff it

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

didn't expect that much or waiting for a big surprise. it is just that Nintendo has 2 hardwares to sell and support it and doesn't have enough resources to support a ton of AAA titles on short duration/notice.

besides Zelda which is expected that Zelda games are delayed. But did Nintendo most of the time release trailers or prototype for 2-3 years down the road?

I wouldn't go that far, but yeah, WiiU is now pretty much confirmed to be their worst console ever. At least in my eyes. The disappointment is so high this generation that there's probably nothing still to come that remedies that. They seriously need to change the way they're thinking and hopefully they've woken up before the release of the NX.

I'll give them that chance. If not for what they were in the past or the potential they still have, somewhere.

If I said I wouldn't buy the next system I know already I would be lying anyway, because I know I would want to play the next real Zelda (note "real", so not this multiplayer garbage) and the potential Super Mario 'Universe' no matter what.

Nintondo has lost it's touch. They can make 200 Mario and Zelda games more and there still will be players who buy those but overall situation is bad for Nintendo cos 3rd party publishers won't even support their platform. So Nintendo is just about Nintendo. Sony and MS has solid 3rd party support.

i wont do either.

Its such a bad value. Getting a console for 10 awesome games and thats it.

Microsoft and sony are offering 10 awesome games each geneartion too but they also haven hundrets of good games.
