Good for 360 owners, wonder when Wii and PS3 will hit that mark.
If that's really true the congrats MS . the 360 could have a game libary comparable to the PS2 at the end of this gen , of course the vast majority of large game libaries are crappy but choice is still a wonderful thing.
In an earlier thread about this, it said over 1000 including xna, xbla, and retail games. I don't know about backwards compatability though.
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

I could see them coming closer if they counted xna. when they released that to the public they put up what 7 or 8 demos right away. Got to be a lot of those games in development by various people. You figure they'll put out 10-12 games a month retail average (more in fall, fewer now) and maybe 6-8 a month on XBLA, that's another 200 or so by year's end right there.
360 has its issues with hardware obviously but the games are largely pretty good. There's some crap as there is on all systems, but most stuff is pretty good if you like the genre of the game. Even the little noticed games can be pretty sweet if it hits your weak spot. Like Culdcept Saga is ridiculously addicting to me, and that sold like 12 copies? LOL Wii has fun games at the top, but drops off pretty quick. PS3 - well the A++ good ones are coming (hopefully) but there's 12-15 pretty solid titles out that'd keep people busy.
A pretty good time to be a gamer all the way around, I'd say.
One more thing. All the companies do this. Wasn't there a PS3 similar story last fall or late summer where they were claiming some crazy big number of releases by the end of '07? PR peeps are wack.

You must not have read the article at all. It says GAMES not INTERACTIVE CONTENT. The movies and things of that sort do not count. I used a very reliable source to get my info. IGN reviews almost every NA release, which is where most games show up and show up first. I counted all XBLA and retail releases and got a number, and gave them an extra 47 titles on top in case my numbers were a bit short. That's only 400. If you think i'm bullshitting then go and look it up yourself and come up with a different number. If you really want me to, I can post the whole damn list and you can fill in the holes yourself.
Oh and before you spit out that I hate MS, look at my post history here, my gamertag is Daddy Keil and that sticky near the top of the Microsoft forum called XBox 360 Exclusives of 2008 is my topic. Get a fucking clue.

They're counting Xbox Live downloadable games, I'm 99% sure. With those in the mix, it's pretty easy to understand where they get the 1k number |

The number is 796. This number includes all 360 games, xbox live games, and playable xbox games. The games that appeared on both 360 and the xbox are counted twice but that doesn't number that many.
So 200 more games by fall. You can "total bullshit" all you would like. If you disagree about playable xbox 1 games counting thats a diffrent argument. Also games are INTERACIVE CONTENT fyi.
