Forums - Microsoft - Anyone find a 360 game they can play on the Xbox One yet?

Just wondering.  I haven't found that list of the first 100 Xbox 360 games that will be playable on the Xbox One yet.  Just wondering if any of you might know 'someone' in the preview and we could start putting a list of compatable games together.

Personally, I'm hoping for Skyrim, Dishonored and the Bioshocks (I and III).

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Well I bought Hexic HD a long time ago so I should probably test that out.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

So it isn't like you will be able to play them all from the get-go? I understood incorrectly. I never expected them all 360 games to work though, even the untouchable PS2 had some issues with some games, a minority though, but they were there.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

same as 360's backwards compatibility to xbox original, not everything works, but everything I had for original xboa worked so it was good for me.

Unfortunately yes, but I believe Microsoft said they just need to get permission/approval from publishers of those games. Otherwise, most should work.

It seems 15 games are made available to preview members now and an added 85 for a total of 100 games this fall. Thing is, ever since they announced this, Xbox live has been experiencing issues with accessing and downloading digital games.

If they went out to get the needed consent from all the developers, it's a good chance the backwards compatibility announcement would have been leaked a long time ago. probably why the list is small at the moment.

So I imagine most will eventually work.

this is pretty awesome, but how does it work?
if you own the game on disk, does it work, or do you have to rebuy it. and im assuming, regardless you will have to download the game. so you disk pretty much is just a verification system.

also do the developers have to reprogram the game somehow, or did xbox some how do some voodoo where the xbox one hardware can play 360 games.

Nope, not all, but they said 100 for everybody by this holiday, and some already for preview members.

I see Mass Effect and Halo: Reach in there.   Plus some long requested games like Viva Piñata (both versions), Banjos, Perfect Darks, people should find something to be happy about.

I would assume no Gears since they are making a remake and while I want Skyrim, something tells me Bethesda will no do that (as they want people to buy Elder Scrolls Online.)

No reprogramming for developers and no rebuying for owners of the games.  Gamestop should be loving this...

It is near the end of the end....
