I really hope not. Knowing that we could have Final Fantasy 16 but instead are receiving a remake would upset me. I've played through the game too many times in the last decade.

We haven't seen an actual new mainline final fantasy since 14's announcement back in 2009 and that was online so obviously doesn't count :'(

Yeah, probably so. It's sad that the "ZOMG IT'S FF7 REMAKE" joke must die, but all good things must come to an end. And at least Hashimoto fabulously trolled us all one last time.

I've been on VGC since 07, and every year since I've seen this thread pop up with hopes and dreams of it happening. I wish as I have never played it so would be a great opportunity but doubt it will happen.

Heres the thing though; that could have been a intentionally troll. Notice how FF7 port has not been talked about since.. . It was suppose to release this spring. No even a update.

Yeah, that's what I think, too. It's one reason I find this credible for a change. That, and because Siliconera isn't known for being fantastically wrong very often so far as I know.
