Why is everyone assuming that E3 will cause rather massive hardware boosts? E3 announcements only tend to hurt sales if they're bad and not do much of anything if they're good.

We had a discussion with ryng and said me(Not that I didn't know the numbers) that 3DS Jan-May 2014 was at 610k,then if we plus the npd numbers from the threads here,june 152k,July 108k,Aug 91k,Sept 140k,Oct 138k,Nov 515k,Dec 810k,that's 2.564.000 in 2014,plus the 11.500.000 by the end of 2013(according to nintendo)=14.064.000,I took his number for Jan 2015,74k(I have 65k),february 395k,March263k,April 116k=848.000+14.064.000=14.912.000,15.000.000(by the end of May 2015)-14.912.000=88k...
So the 68k is not right!By 68k,we have 14.980.000 by the end of May and Nintendo said that 3DS surpassed 15m, is it lying?
