I want to see what this developer is capable of when they have nothing but a blank canvas sitting in front them. Currently they have a bunch of outlines and they just color in the rest.

I hope it's a new Donkey Kong or Metroid. Either will due.
How would people react if it was Diddy Kong U - an exploration platformer with Diddy as the playable character, with gameplay a cross between Metroid Prime and Donkey Kong 64?
It's fun to speculate.
I see many people expect new 2D Donkey Kong game, I think there is no chance for another 2D Donkey Kong game on Wii U. We already have one Donkey Kong Wii U game and not exactly most popular game for Wii U, also we have more than enuf 2D platformers on Wii U, so there is no logical reason to make another DK 2D game.
Diddy Kong Racing have bigger chances, but also we already have one Kart game, what we dont have is Metroid like game or 3D platformer or something completely new. I bet on Metroid beacuse gamepad is perfect for that game, fans are very vocal about new Metroid game and after Other M they need good Metroid game again and naturally best choice is Retro.

Even if it is another donkey Kong game like tropical freeze, i wouldnt be mad, thats one of my fave games ever

Metroid obviously, WE want as much Metroid games as they can develop, I hope they announce both Metroid 3DS and Metroid Wii U at this year E3, I don't know if retro is capable of developing both at the same time, one in 2D and the other in Prime style but if they aren't I hope Retro is developing the Wii U one and someone like Next Level Games is doing the 3DS version.

Don't say that D: there is still hope, maybe they only wanted to make a quote from an old game and you're looking too much into it

Donkey Kong Land 3D or Diddy Kong Land for the 3DS would make a lot of sense to be honest.
I don't think Nintendo was happy with DKC's sales potential squandered on the Wii U, they probably figure they can get 1-2 million+ out of an original DKC on the 3DS.
Yeah I could see that. 3DS needs more games too, you guys just assume everything is a Wii U game.

But why would they build a new engine if it's to make yet an other 2D DK game?
And if it's a Diddy Kong Racing game, then I don't understand why Nintendo would release a second such kart game so close to MK8.
