Again it's kind of misleading. These numbers are pretty much assuredly for Canada only and Nintendo is by this guy's own admission more popular (per capita) in Canada than the US.

50% does seem to the trend in many regions so far, though. We'll have to wait for NPD to get a true confirmation.

Well, the source not say if is WW or just Canada. any way, MK8 sold 325,000 FW in JP, and around 145,000 Splatoon. That's LESS than half of what did MK8.

So, maybe Splatoon in Canada did better than in Japan? had to say withouth numbers...

Aside from the fact that this is most likely only based on Canadian numbers, he's probably going by shipped + digital, which for Japan were probably around 200k.

mario kart sold 1,6m first week (1,2m first 3 days). so if splatoon sold 800k this really would fit my prediction 100%
