That's pretty much what they insinuated before the game's release, and so it would seem to be the case. At least up until August (?) when they release the big update.

Did they mention what will be in the big update?

I think it will be the 2 new modes they showed in the direct. That moving platform one, and that Rainmaker one ( cant exactly remember the name). So i guess until august we might just get new maps and weapons every week.

Awesome! Map looks much nicer in broad daylight! The walkways above will be interesting, as while they give advantageous positioning, you can't put ink on them, so you'll have to slowly walk as squid mode will have you fall through, and you can't permanently stay up there as you'll run out of ink.

I remember someone said that the reviews should adjust their score regarding to this type of fast-forwarded DLC release for a game (and also because it's free). I'm beginning to think the disk had locked content... And I tend to agree with that person now. It's definitely something worth thinking about in the future.

Possibly me? I was obnoxiously loud about that issue for a while hehe. Although I never said it should adjust their score, as that's just their opinion, they can give it whatever score for whatever reasons. My problem is the reasons themselves and what the reviews say or didn't say specifically.

I thought that on-disc locked content was an unforgivable error that was typical of Capcom and other evil publishers. But I guess Nintendo not only doesn't get the criticism as they even get praised by "releasing content timely so people are drawed back to the game".

It's free and they have been criticised plenty for it.

I was wondering when the inevitable "It's ok when Nintendo does it" post would come up.

News flash, the updates are free. And you must have missed all the criticism. Or you just wanted to post some untrue stereotypes about Nintendo fans again.

If we get an update for local multiplayer, then it would make this game a heck of a lot funner for me.

All these people talking about Splatoon and how great it is
and I'm just sitting waiting for the price to go down in the US...

Lol, Nintendo has gotten so much shit for this already. But I think you already knew that.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.
