So Splatoon was obviously alot more sucsessfull as many people thought. Im sure this was not only the case because of nintendos marketing but also the style of the game

Other games, like ZombiU or Bayonetta 2 got a similar or even better marketing campaign but probl. arnt near as sucsessfull.

I think Nintendo should focus alot more on their typical "nintendo"-games.

So games with cartoony graphics, addicted and awesome gameplay which arnt to hard. Games that are probl rated e.

I think everybody would benefit from this.

People buy the wii u usual for games like mario, mario kart, smash and co. Those people are in general not interested in games like bayonetta or devils third.

People who are interested in games like bayonetta, zombiu, devils third and co will get a ps or xbox system scince both these systems offers ALOT more of those games then the wii u. 

People who really want to play bayonetta 2 have to buy a complete new console just for the game. They need to get used to the new controls (all controller have different layout) and spend ALOT money.

Most wii u owner wont care for games like bayo2 and will have a lack of good games to play (games of the typ they like).

Nintendo would earn more money.

The developer might be happier with higher sales (shows they made a good product)

Games i want to / would like to see on wii u instead the mentioned above ones on wii u:

Kingdom hearts 3

Plants vs Zombies: GW

And upcoming cartoony xbox exclusive i dont remember the name

and more.

For sure also new ips like splatoon or remakes like mairo sunshine hd.

People who cares for games like Bayonetta and the nintendo typical games  both will probl have a other console or pc anyway. So even they would benefit of an release for another console (better graphics, higher resolution, better perfomance), scince thise consoles just have more power.

SO instead using money for a game like devils third i think this money would be way better used for a kingdom hearts 3 port for wii u (which i still hope is the game tantalus is working on and will hopefully revealed at e3)

Only Mario Kart and Smash had the same marketing of Splatoon. And that's the reason the game is selling well.

Yeah, they need to stop focus on games like Bayonetta 2, Devil's third and Fatal Frame and go after games like Splatoon.

zombiu had way bigger marketing

also bayonetta got very good marketing. there wer bayonetta cosplay in playboy for example. a free demo you can download and play every day, trailer and much more.

Yeah, Bayo 2 and ZombiU didn't get nearly as big of a marketing push as Splatoon. The reason these games didn't sell is because they're both fairly niche games, and ZombiU was pushed to the wrong people.

Nintendo just needs to advertise well. The way they handled games like MK, Smash and Splatoon was fantastic, and guess what? They sold. Just keep going with that.

I think they should do both: invest more on competitive Nintendo-like games like Splatoon, MK and Smash; and continuing investing on different games/genres like XCX, Bayonetta Devil's Third, etc.

If you mean a different take on established genres and with a decent development budget and proper marketing; then yes, yes of course they should!

Splatoon had three testfires, multiple commercials in every region, billboards, froyo advertising, pre-order bonuses, events in Time Square, the Mess Fest, a partnership with GameTruck, game demos at multiple conventions, displays in many stores, etc.

Bayonetta's marketing wasn't even close.

well at least zombiu as a launch titel got massive marketing. Tv commercials, day 1 bundle and much much more.

also bayonetta got good marketing in my opinion. Splatoon wasnt really more (at least in my country).
Also bayonetta got a big hype and much more.
