Forums - Sony - Rumor: Sony has parted ways with The Order 1886 developer

Yesterday, developer Ready At Dawn revealed that they are looking to independently publish their games in the future. Many were surprised by this, considering Ready At Dawn had a big partnership with Sony for the high profile PS4 exclusive The Order 1886.

Now we know why: Sony has parted ways with Ready At Dawn, after the poor performance of The Order 1886, both in terms of reception and sales.

Not surprising. The game did poorly critically and its sales are front-loaded with no legs whatsoever because of its critical reception.

I kind of figured the announcement of Ready at Dawn self publishing their games was enough proof of that.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Well..... Duhhh

Good luck in your new ventures RAD. May you find a way to balance artistic vision and what people want.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I really really hope they learn from the lessons of what happened to Crytek.

Well they said they want to make a sequel to The Order 1886. I hope if they do make one its a 20hr game since they have the tech down already.

I don't even know what Crytek are doing at the moment. If I were to take a guess I'd say they are working in next Crysis. I remember though there were some rumors about financial struggles within the company some months back. A dire fate for Crytek indeed.
