Holy crap, 1.2 million on PC alone

Apparently it's paltry and not enough to some in this thread though, I can see this data being used against the platform in the enar future or at least for quick jabs.

No matter how anybody try to spin the facts... PS4 sold the best.

PC sales are rellative below expectations to be fair... it is a high PC profile game... it was expected to sold the best on PC.

It's not the spinning, it's more the rubbing, you know because we need more of that to get people to look at each other in a good light these days.

Relatively below expectations?, who's?, it's not a high profile PC game when it's a multiplatform title where the lowest spec was the focus, I'd be more inclined to say Kingdom Come Dliverance would be since it's being made on PC first and consoles after, I honestly didn't expect W3 to sell much after what transpired, especially Steam's asking price.

I'm surprised it sold that well on PC, especially at full price and roughly 3 weeks after launch. Compared to other multi-plats its done exceptionally well. It even beat the XBox which is nearly unheard of.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

It is.

The Witcher is a know frachise on PC (and maybe Xbox) and sold the best on PC... it is a PC franchise and not console one.

So it was expected to sell more on PC but what turned out...

It's not really going to be a known one, you also gave us the numbers which show it didn't sell ebst on PC, it also left PC to become a multiplat since the 2nd game.

I honestly didn't expect it to sell more on PC when we looked at the enws, the lack of PC marketing, lack of showing the game at it's fullest settings (something a lot of PC users were noting CDPR a lot and hardly got a straight up answer for it), the Steam asking price is £50 which is double the amount of usual multiplat releases on Steam, GoG had it cheaper due to pre-orders or having previous WItcher games on GoG which CDPR own.

Out of all that I honestly just didn't expect it to sell that well, 1.3 is nice and all and I want it to sell more but hey 2.7 man, boom, jobs done, game over.

I don't think anyone expected that, I know I didn't. Most gamers play on console period and the Witcher 3 is very console friendly and it was demoed and promoted heavily on both systems.

The Witchers franchise sold 6 million games up to mid 2013... only 2.2 million being The Witcher 2 (2011 release)... so the first game sold maybe 4 million alone only on PC.

Yes... it is a PC franchise and a known one.

The franchise can be at 12 million or more right now... it is a 2007 franchise.

Yeah in the past... today's numbers for the latest are showing differently, the 2nd and 3rd game are multiplat, by a fact the franchise is more multiplat than PC centric, the first was and that was years ago.

Is this like reverse psychology or something?, you're not one to go for a PC franchise's side, you just showed numbers beforehand which told a different story than the one you're giving me now.

Wow - due to that number on GOG (100% goes to CDPR) and most of other PC sales being on Steam (70% goes to CDPR), it seems that PC is most profitable platform for Witcher, even though it sold less than PS4.
