It's not considered competition because it's not selling. But the question is why they're winning the war, which also means why it's beating the Vita (aka, the competition), so that answer is just an excuse and a paradox in itself.

Yeah, I did find it odd that some comments mention that the 3DS doesn`t have competition when in fact does. It also makes it odd that it is often pitted against the Wii U, but mention the 3DS, and its suddenly out of the picture. :

It's a tactic used to undermine both the 3DS and the Wii U.

The harsh reality is that the Wii U is selling like shit, and the PS4 is winning.

Likewise, the Vita is selling like shit, and the 3DS is winning.

These are the facts, and we must accept them. Comparing the Wii U to the Vita is pointless and the result of fanboy drivel. 

But still over all More Sony machines are being sold than Nintendos because the vita is outselling the wiiu and the ps4 is outselling the 3ds, espacially if you put the PS3s current sales into it.

The Vita isn't outselling the Wii U though. Like last year, it sells more in the first few months (which are naturally bigger for Sony systems in Japan) but during the holiday the Wii U sells very well while the Vita doesn't. Last year, the gap was bigger and the Wii U still won.

Regardless, that doesn't matter because as you guys say all the time that handhelds are irrelevant and you don't care about them, right? So why compare handhelds to home consoles? It's a ridiculous notion. 

Even though he mentioned it near the end you still went and ignored it in order to turn around and spin as hard as possible...

Seriously with you, you spin Sony so hard vs everything else and play right into the "people feeling insecure about their purchases so they have to make everthing else seem bad to make their decision look good" card that was mentioned in this ver thread and the other one with Sony.

You can totally play a mirror card and throw "well you and PC everthing", except I'm a multiplat biding his time (And let's face it you ain't) so I'm not just on PC, I'm on 3DS, will be on Wii U and XB1 eventually.

At the end of the day 3DS has Vita beat, PS4 has Wii U beat, thems the facts no matter how hard you try to spin you cannot and will not twist to make your image seem like the correct one while distorting the rest, that's not how it works.

I don`t mean to say that myself, but just some of the comments I read, which I found interesting.

I don't think Pokemon is the main reason.  I don't think there really is one main reason.  If there were, it would be easier to create sales based off of that.
