With the Amiibo craze growing by the  day, and Nintendo inability (or cold, careful planning) to manufacture them at a proper speed has left a lot of people with a sour taste. There's no doubt in my mind 3rd parties will start soon manufacturing fake Amiibos (Fakemiibos, if you will) to capitalise on Nintendo's problems and a profitable market. This ones will not have the chip installed (only Nintendo can manufacture those), but when Nintendo starts releasing Amiibo cards with the chip -and they will- the manufacturers can just sell the figurine for cheap.

If you want a Marth Amiibo, and the only thing you can find is a "Sword guy figurine", would you buy it? Would you buy a Fakemiibo?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

The fact that these cool figurines of Nintendo characters have sentimental value is a major factor to why I love collecting them.

Resorting to fake amiibos that don't cost much would defeat the purpose of collecting for me.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I wouldn't myself. It's either the real deal, or nothing at all. Also, they wouldn't have their functions, so that's also a minus.

I don't own a WII U but if they are significantly cheaper and don't have a horrible build quality. I would definitely buy one or two .

I would too. Chinese manufacturers have been making bootleged versions of Mario and Pokemon figurines for decades now, this should not be difficult for them. Hell, they don't have to put the chip on them, they could sell the toys for cheap or focus on making them as detailed as possible, changing one thing or two to avoid copyright problems (Pistachu the electric mouse, Pink princess, elf with shield and sword... XD)

Also, look at some of the Fakemiibos starting to appear:

This is a fake Pikachu Amiibo. It's spot on. I'm sure the humanoid ones will look worse than the original, but some figures have to be easy to copy.

No, I would rather not buy fake ones.

I don't think so, it just feels kind of wrong. Would rather have the real thing or none at all.

No because even as a complete casual like i was 3 years ago........I would not be stupid enough to not notice they look different to one i have seen or that the nintendo logo is missing..........

Real or Custom.

I have too much dignity to buy knock off amiibo.

bet: lost
