Forums - Nintendo - Mystery solved! Why starter Pokemon are rare in the RPGs!

After feeling sad that Totodile was listed as one of the worst starter Pokemon in a recent thread, I realized there's one simple reason why the starters are rare...

Their gender ratio is heavily unbalanced!

For example, check Bulbasaur's gender ratio:

Only 12.5% Bulbasaur in the wild are female! So for every female Bulbasaur that exist, there are 7 more males!

Here's a visual represenation of this ratio!

Female Male Male Male Male Male Male Male

And according to the link below, all 18 starter Pokemon share the same gender ratio!

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_gender_ratio#1_.E2.99.80_:_7_.E2.99.82

What does this mean?

It only means one thing!

The starter Pokemon species is a huge sausage fest!

Thanks! I only took a few minutes to do it on Microsoft paint so I hope the white outline isn't too distracting . xD

well i mean, there's one explanation. i always felt that they were just domestic pokemon and didnt live in the wild anymore. like cats or dogs.

lmfao

Gender ratios weren't in R/B/Y, how do you explain that?

Totodile the best mofo starter ever. Hands down.

Thanks jlmurph!

It's almost like the gender ratio on the internet.

Nothing wrong with a good ol' fashioned sausage fest.

But then what about Dittos?
