You do realize that no exclusive AAA game would be made by Bluepoint Games (the developers behind the Uncharted Remaster) if they were not doing the remaster. It takes much less resources and talent to remaster a title, the only thing they've ever done is remasters. They are also an independent studio, Sony is outsourcing the work not using it's own first party staff for the remaster.

Even if it was using a 1st party studio the difference in man power needed between making a new AAA title and remastering an old one is so large it's laughable to suggest we are getting remasters INSTEAD of new titles. If they didn't decide to do the remakes we woudln't be getting anything else in it's place.

All Sony's 1st party studios are hard at work developing new titles, it's just taking a little longer to get the ball rolling then they expected, but all these threads about the ps4 lacking 1st party will be completely forgotten in a couple of years.

 

I also have to question why a non-playstation owner has created this thread. I can see no reason for you to start this discussion when it's not relevent to you in the slightest.

i guess that is the big question here. it seems to me that it has affected normal output. if sony didnt have remasters, what would they have so far? its taking out a big chunk of the games they published if you take out the remasters. do you think it has affected normal output?

I am going to give this guy a chance. I mean, he just implied in OP that Wind Waker HD and Ocarina of Time remasters were an unnecesary waste of money and resources so we got to give the guy a chance.

At the end of the day I'd rather Sony release remasters then rush out an unfinished first party game. It's obvious that development of their first party projects is taking longer than they expected, when they come however they will come in force.

hope they keep bringing the remasters as it annoys the anti sony forum dwellers within the crushing gen 8 win

don't worry yourself you will eventually buy that PS4 you so apparently want in the op as it will be the biggest seller winning gen 8 easily and have so many more games to play,just be patient and enjoy the remasters that the new gamers can enjoy

This is true.

The other day I was at Barnes & Nobles and I got really pissed off. I went up to the checkout girl, thumped down a new edition of Moby Dick, and said, "What the fuck, checkout girl? Why are they reprinting these OLD BOOKS instead of making NEW BOOKS? It's ridiculous. I don't want old books, I don't care how good they are, I only want books from THIS GENERATION."

I left her in tears but, honestly, it felt good. Someone has to make a stand. It's clear that for every old book they reprint, THAT'S ONE NEW BOOK OFF THE MARKET. This cannot continue.

I'm with you, brother. I think it's time for a very serious step. I think it's time for a petition.

hopefully sony has something fresh to show this e3. seriously. not that it will affect the sales of the ps4, but im talking for you die hard fans out there. dont you want ps4 to have its own identity? because so far it has hardly differentiated itself from the ps3 at all. its really sad to see honestly. i would like to own a ps4, but if this is what sony is offering its second year in, i dont see any reason to invest. 

so what do you guys think of another remaster? and how many more would sony and or third parties have to do before you say that it's enough?

I agree with this.  PS4 has no identity of its own because it's nothing but ports and if you look back a few years, these were the exact same complaints that I had with the Vita.  None of the fans are going to care though.  The PS4 is in a better situation though because it's actually getting sales though.  How?  I have no fu**ing idea, but it is.  The Vita actually had more exclusive content and it's sold like crap since launch. 

Almost everyone who owns a PS4 is going to be apologetic because they own the console.  You don't want to spend $400 and feel like you've thrown your money away afterall.  I should have got a Wii U when I had the chance for $239.  I'd be having a lot more fun than I am right now.  I've hated just about every game I've played on the PS4.
