Forums - Gaming Discussion - Rock Band Drums on Hard

I've just finished my solo tour drumming on normal and got five stars on all but 2 songs. I'm going to start a tour on hard next. I've played a few songs on hard in quick play with friends at home, and always needed to be saved.

I can do all songs on hard except for Blackened and March Of The Pigs (sweet christ those songs are hard) and for green grass and high tides i need to pause for a break, I can do most of the first half of songs on expert.

Well, as was mentioned, once you get through the highest levels on drums you can just play the real thing. For the guitar it's obviously not even close. So yeah, there is definitely a massive skill gap on the drumming side of the game. The fact that you're up to hard at all without previous experience (or so I'd assume, based on your troubles) on the drums is pretty good. Just keep at it, remind yourself that you're sorta teaching yourself a real instrument at the same time, and eventually you'll get it.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

I was actually wondering this myself. I have managed to get through the majority of the Hard tour without a great deal of trouble, but Don't Fear the Reaper and Foreplay/Long Time have so far bested me on my first few attempts.

Oh, and for all those who are complaining about their calf muscles getting tired and/or sore, the trick is to do the motion with your thigh, not your calf. It makes a world of difference, trust me.

I can play and beat all the songs on hard, but I had to get my brother to do the foot pedal on "Run to the Hills". That song is by far the hardest on drums!

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

My friends drum on expert, but they often get shamed by it.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I'm really having a rough time separated my brain from my foot. I can't get those damned staggered foot/drum segments right and want to hit both at the same time or neither. Ugh.

I've never played Rock Band but I used to play the drums in real life and it's by far the easiest instrument I ever tried. I sucked at piano and guitar but on the drums I passed my first 2 exams in no time. You just need a real drummer to show you the right technique for the sticks and pedal and it'll all fall into place. I can almost guarantee you'll be doing it wrong and making it hard for yourself if you've never been shown.
