According to Media Create, the week ending 23 May 2015 (24 May in Japan) Mario Kart 8 pass 1M mark, with 1,006,719 unit sold.

Retail only.

 

That's very amazing week for WU between Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon.

This shows again that Wii U owners only buy Nintendo consoles because of Nintendo games.

Second million seller on home consoles this gen and there won't be many, maybe around 5.

They probably bought the MK8 bundle and there's no Smash bundle.

Yes, that attach rate is sick.

You say that like it's a bad thing! 

Also, this number does not show that. First of all, it says nothing about previous consoles. Secondly, it shows that it Nintendo games are 1 of the reasons why people buy a Wii U.

Sales of (many, not all) 3rd party games show that most Wii U owners bought it for Nintendo games.

there arnt much other games on wiiu are there? 

if third party wont bring any games to wii u nobody who dont care about nintendo games will get the console^^
