Forums - Sony - Two More PSP Games Coming to the PS2: Ratchet & Silent Hill

For those like me stuck without a PSP, two excellent PSP games came to the PS2 this past week. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and Silent Hill 0rigins just recently joined the GTA Stories games and Twisted Metal: Head on in the "games developed for PSP receiving PS2 ports" arena. The games retail at a budget price of $30 each, so they might be worth picking up if you don't already have them.

So, what do you all think of this phenomenon? Is it hurting the PSP by giving it less exclusives, or helping it by promoting awareness of the great games that have already come out for it?

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I can't say I liked R&C Size Matters. I am still at the part where you have to beat some idiots at hoverboard racing. What's the point of that? The control was frustrating to say the least and I just gave up after 2 tries.

And if PS2 will get games that came out on PSP last year? I have no problem letting them do that. This might be the only way PSP developers can get profit and I'm in no position to deny them that.

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

Episode 2:

According to pre-order rate in week 13 (post id: 2902544)

I didn't actually really care for either of those titles.

I think it's piracy that necessitates the PS2 ports, and I think it's the piracy that hurts the PSP a whole lot more than the ports.

I will definitely pick up Silent Hill: Origins.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

ANd people still claim that GoW Coo won't one day see the light of day on the PS2

Oh well, I still get it way earlier

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

if gow:coo gets ported it won't be done by Ready at Dawn, they stated they will not do it.

I don't see it as a bad thing, after all it's getting ported a year after it was 1st release, so releasing it on PS2 just generates almost pure profit.

! thing to consider as an example is this, RE4 was released on the gamecube first and then 1 year later on the PS2, but the gamcube version still sold very well and wasn't affected by the fact that the PS2 was getting it 1 year later, the same can be said with these PSP ports to PS2.

Silent Hill in my pocket ...

about the port, they stated GoD War PSP will never be released on PS2. Time will tell ...

Both Sony andR@D stated that they will not port CoO to the PSP , because they want to keep it as a PSP biggun , and the port cost may not come out from the PS2 version , because lately software sales have droped a lot ...
