Just started Lost Odyssey on the Xbox One, with it being my first JRPG. I didn't know exactly what to expect, but I didn't expect to cry in the first 30 minutes lol. Damn Hanna's departure was sad. I guess this sets the tone for the rest of the game

The writing on these dreams are much better than the main storyline. Not that the main story is terrible, it's just nothing memorable.

My brother bought Battlefield 1 on my account, which I share on his Xbone. Holy shit, the MP graphics are fucking amazing. I am sure a lot of it is smoke and mirrors, but god damn. How does CoD look like it does while this looks like this? Some of the Operations maps are just ridiculous. Can't wait to play them on Scorpio. Almost makes me want to upgrade my recently purchased PC.

I was going to make a thread about it but figured it would get trolled and shit on too much for any real discussion, but doesn't 2017 seem loaded for Xbox? So many huge third party games coming, and then you have big games we've been waiting a long time for like Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, Halo Wars 2, etc. Plus smaller know stuff like State of Decay 2, the sequel to imho the most underrated game of last gen. Cuphead, Scalebound, loads of others. And of course the most powerful console ever is finally releasing. Wish it were coming sooner than November.

Yep would have gotten scoffed at. I'm waiting for State of Decay 2, Cuphead, Scalebound and Crackdown 3. Day One

Results are in and though most of you came clean on your choices, I must say I am pleasantly surprised at the results... Now I have a reason to tell my fellow conspirators that most people did prefer the characters having an emblem over weird image avatars displaying your character looking varying degrees of uncomfortable or having huge cluttered cutouts resembling a tachometer...

Good, and we've narrowed it down to three devs... Tamsoft, Atlus and Game Arts and we're telling their support teams to fuck off, so no risk of Marvelous or Gung Ho Online Crap fucking up things... Of course Idea Factory was among the options since they are desperate, but all it took was a flying Merlot and now we're back to business as usual.

Someone also mentioned that we might obtain a good result if we postpone it and then ask Bamco, but I don't trust Hideo Baba not to be involved given how he makes everything he works on become tar... And not good tar at that...

And we're not waiting until double twenty...

No it doesn't really feel loaded. Personally I don't like to look what is to come because many 2017 titles can be delayed for PS4 and Xbox one.

just look to next month:

What are the exclusives for 2017 January:

Xbox one :  ?  + indies?

PS4: Vr miku/Dynasty warriros godseekers/Yakuza 0/Digimon world/Tales of Berseria/Gravity Rush 2/Kingdom Hearts 2.8/fate extella + indies?

You are right some of those PS4 january titles maybe had a new release date or are not for you liking still you better not make that thread =p.

It's a very strong line up and not only that it covers many genres and I actually think most if not all of them will release in 2017 as some such as Scalebound and Crackdown imo were delayed purposefully to tie in with the Scorpio release and Sea of Thieves needs and will release next year so it doesn't become a Fable Legends scenario. Phantom Dust/Voodoo Vince are down as Q1 so even with delays they will arrive mid-2017 as is Cuphead's new release window.

..and not only that but 2017 is looking to be building into a big year for big hitting 3rd party titles. I still think there will be another 2-3 games revealed for fall/holidays at the upcoming E3 that we don't even know about, (Forza or something by Turn 10 + 1-2 other newly announced games).

Not talking about exclusives, as my post said. And yeah, I haven't cared about 99% of janky Japanese games since I was a teenager, so literally nothing you listed will be purchased by me. But 2017 is still extremely loaded for Xbone, with games I actually care about. But thanks for reminding me why I didn't make it, the thread would just instantly become a stupid console warz pissing match.

It does look great, but as you said, alot of it is smoke and mirrors. Those graphics come at a huge cost, dynamic resolution that drops to 720p fairly often and framerate that drops into the 40's fairly often and occasionally into the 30's. It will be great on Scorpio though I'm sure.

Your post just reminded me of something I've been meaning to post for the past few days but kept forgetting :)

We know that unless patched the PS4 Pro doesn't improve anything and it runs just as the base console but In regards to the Scorpio do you think it will increase the performance without any patch on the frame rate/dynamic resolution side of things.

- Xbox One S has a slightly higher clock speed on the GPU so games that were limited by the GPU can eek a little performance boost out of it such as keeping a solid 30fps  instead of dropping to 27/28fps.

- Backwards compatibility games are seeing performance enhancements from the original Xbox 360 versions, The Bioshock games are a good example of this how you can tick the uncapped frame rate option where as the 360 sits around the 40fps mark the Xbox One hits 60 a good amount whilst keeping closer to a 50fps in action. When BC first launched it was just the same performance or slightly worse at times and has improved a lot overtime.

What I'm saying is that Microsoft must have developed the software side of things to allow for performance boosts without any "Pro-patch" so games that drop texture resolution when dynamic resolution is used should run at the max resolution whether that is 900p or 1080p whilst also holding a solid 30 or 60 fps depending what the game is locked to.

So for example with Battlefield 1 and it's frame rates and dynamic resolution the Scorpio should without any patch hold the max resolution of 1000p it has on Xbox One with a solid 60fps right? Or at least significiantly better constant frame rate and little drops in the resolution?

Obviosly developers will also have a option to push a higher graphical version specific to Scorpio but i'm referencing in reguards to performance increases on games without any patches, I do follow some tech stuff but it's not my most knowledgeable subject but am I on the right track here on how the difference between the Scorpio and the Pro with how we will see improvements without patches?
