Some more details supposedly from the Game Informer issue:

-No more splitscreen co-op, but drop-in, drop-out online co-op has been added.

-New character on Locke's team, Olympia Vale, will be introduced in an upcoming book named "Hunters in the Darkness"

-All of the Spartan abilities from multiplayer will also be in singleplayer

-There will be tactical squad commands in singleplayer, apparently similar to Star Wars Republic Commando (343 industries Creative Director Timothy Longo was the Lead Designer on Republic Command back when he was at Lucas Arts).

If this is true I don't know how people are gonna react to this. Tactical combat is awesome in my book and got my hype level going up ten fold.

Confirmed spartan abilities in single player is great also. So we will be able to tackle and ground punch some Jackals. I hope it doesn't makes us too powerful compared to the Elites. I want them to be as strong as we are just like in Halo 1they were tough.

20+ maps is more then any halo before and depending on what the total number is could be more then double of some of the games

Looks like 35+ post DLC for Halo 5. I think Halo 2 had the most maps, 25 or so, so Halo 5 will have at least 10 more than the biggest previous Halo game.

i was just looking at launch.  hce launched with 13, h2 with 12, and h3 11.  reach had 9 not including the ff maps.

I am really upset if there is no splitscreen mode, that would suck majorly. However, a republic commando style gameplay sounds freaking awesome, that is one of the best fps:s I have ever played.
