For Lockhart literally all they need to do is take the Xbox One X and replace the CPU with zen2.

Cause besides that Jaguar cpu, it is almost a generation leap from the original xbox one anyways. Three years after the One X, they could make it a "slim" with cheaper parts.
That way they may be able to push that price down to $350 out the gate.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Btw has anyone here played World War Z on XBO? The game has recently caught my interest since i'm seeing it everywhere but im curious to know how it runs on Xbox.

$599 anaconda would be fine. Ps3 was 15 years ago by neXtbox launch.

$299-399 Lockhart is for the mainstream. Anaconda isn't. Doesn't matter if it's doa for the majority.

Mainstream customers don't tend to buy in the first year or 2 anyway. By which time, a $499 anaconda would probably be possible.

PS3 being $600 did the sell that well from the start also the playstation brand was and still is way stronger than the xbox brand so Sony could get away more with a $600 console. If Sony prices their console at $500 with poweful specs and Lockhart is $400 and just a bit more powerful than the One X then I thinl most gamers will go with the PS5 because it would be like the middle range between the week next gen console and most powerful one.

I originally figured they would do something like this as well if they had a Ryzen based next gen core model. Ryzen is quite efficient so the cooling system shouldn't have to be as high end as XB1X, plus moving to the 7nm process, depending on how much they decided to shrink the console. You would think this would allow for a $299-$399 price point easily. I also thought having the high end model be 12TF, around twice the performance with Vega or Navi for less than twice the price like $499, should make scaling easier as well as marketing. Who knows though, maybe AMD really really wants to push Ryzen and Navi and is willing to give the console companies a cheap yet future proof deal they can't pass up. The more up to date AMD hardware in the market, the better it is for AMD overall, even if they have to deal with smaller margins again, since they are fighting a steep uphill battle against both Intel and Nvidia.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

Honestly, I rather pay 600 dollars and get a way better experience on the Anaconda than the current xbox one x. A 500 dollar Anaconda is not going be much more powerful than the xbox one x.

Rumor is that the PS5 will be $500 and that already looks to be way more powerful than the One X. I dont mind paying $600 for a console thats worth it but for the mainstream $600 is DOA.

I don't believe in rumors too much, but there is only so much you can do with about 150 dollars more in hardware upgrade. However, I know the market won't like the 600 price.

"Combine this with the leak that Microsoft is working on an entry-level four teraflop console alongside a 12TF monster (the figures may change but the strategy is accurate, according to our sources) and the impression is that for the Xbox team at least, the top-end in console GPU power is likely to be an Xbox One X-level premium price option. Where Sony sits in this new power ladder remains to be seen, but we already know that Google Stadia slots in at 9.7TF, with a GPU likely clocked at around 1495MHz."

So what is the total TFlop of the PS5 going to be? I’m more interested in the power difference between that and Lockhart honestly. Also if Lockhart is only 4TF then that is a big mistake by MS at the very least it should be the same as the X 6TF with and upgraded CPU.

Sony has yet to say. Insiders have said that the PS5 and Anaconda will have more than Stadia's 9.7 teraflops.

Even if anaconda is more powerful than PS5, i think the difference will be small.

As long as the difference isn't like the base Xbox one with the PS4 which was embarrasing for MS, than i don't really care which one has more power.
