Damn another sub par Xbox game releases. Been delegated to a blu ray player for me. Sad.

To influence Japan do you think?

Are these sorts of arcades still big in the US?

Not really. At the height of arcade popularity in the US back in the early 80's, US arcades made $8b in revenue a year ($21.7b adjusted for inflation), by 1991 that had fallen to $2.1b, by 1999 it was down to $1.33b, and by 2004 it was down to $866m. Today, yearly US arcade revenue is less than $500m, a very small chunk of the total US gaming revenue of $36b in 2017. There are 4 main chain restaurants with a heavy focus on arcades; CiCi's Pizza, Chuck E. Cheese's, Gatti's Pizza, and Dave & Buster's, between the 4 there are less than 1500 in the US, plus a significant number of movie theaters and some malls still have arcades, but many don't buy newer cabinets very often. I personally don't have a Gatti's, Chuck E Cheese's, or Dave & Buster's in my area (there used to be a Gatti's here but it closed in the late 90's), the only arcades in my area are in one of the local movie theaters (the other local theaters don't have any arcade cabinets), and a CiCi's Pizza, neither of which buys newer arcade cabinets, all of their cabinets are late 2000's models or earlier.

What a strange decision for them to make either way.

For such a small market!

Kinda happy that this is the spinoff since I did not want the rumored MP only game I want an ODST/Reach type game maybe with some RPG elements.

New Halo game revealed at Inside Xbox

.... and its a arcade on the rails shooter O_O

Halo FireTeam Raven.
Was not expecting that.

Honestly a Forza arcade would actually be better.

Whoa! I didn't realise that arcade games are rare. Since I'm from California I see them in some places like 2 of the 4 that Shikamaru317 listed (though I always wanted to go to Cici's pizza but there are only 2 in California and both of them are down south, too far away! ) Hell my former local mall added an arcade place after I moved. I thought this was a normal thing everywhere in the USA.

Also regarding that Halo arcade game I wish they made one for the Forza series since my local Dave and Busters have arcades base on the Mario Kart franchise, the Tomb Raider reboot and it even has one about Rambo.

Proud to be a Californian.

Everything is pointing to a new splinter cell. Now we know it’s coming before April. Michael Ironside on inside Xbox, Sam fisher in wild lands, the marketing rumor, the Walmart leak. Now Ubisoft says that they have AAA games coming this fiscal year. Division 2, crew 2, and an unannounced one. Skull and bones got delayed. Creed is on 2 year cycle now. So really only leaves splinter cell and watchdogs as possibilities.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

I disagree Platinum has proven time and time again that they are one the best game developers in the world and no one comes close to their output rate this gen. I would bet money that Granblue Fantasy and Bayonetta 3 range in 88-92 with critics.

That's a fair call, but personally I don't care about either of those games, so for me it's still a good decision. And a high Meta does not necessarily mean good sales, either. Especially as it was looking to be a big budget game - and we know that the track record of Japanese games on the Xbox isn't great.

Looks like we're hunting the Megalodon

Looking forward to this! It seems you have to work with other crews to summon this Megalodon or Leviathan. Should be pretty cool. I'm seeing more and more friendly pirates these days sailing the seas which is great, at some point every ship just attacked you without asking any questions.

That release date just sucks.. I'm not going to be able to play it until 3rd of June earliest damnit. Might be a good thing after the latest patch fiasco though, gives them time to sort out any mess they may cause this time.

I understand that and agree with some of your points but MS has to take risks, also Scalebound looked to be more "Western" than the other games that Platinum has made and it covers a genre that MS is currently lacking since it was an open world action rpg.

There are not many proven 3rd party Devs out there that are easy to snatch up for an exclusive game.
